Am I affected by the motorcycle road restrictions in Austria?
The road closure in the Lech Valley applies to motorcycles with a registered stationary noise level of more than 95 dB(A). You can find your stationary noise level in your vehicle registration document under item U.1.
- If your value is higher, you may not ride on these roads.
- If the value is exactly 95 dB(A) or lower, these roads remain open to you.
What matters is therefore the stationary noise level registered in your vehicle documents. If you have fitted an approved, EC-tested MILLER Exhaust system in proper condition, you may of course continue to ride on these roads, provided your registered stationary noise level does not exceed the 95 dB(A) limit.
An aftermarket exhaust system approved under the EC directives does not change your registered stationary noise level. So if your vehicle documents show a stationary noise level of 95 dB(A) or lower, you may fit an exhaust system approved under the EC directives and continue to ride on these roads.
If a value above 95 dB(A) is registered, you may not ride on these roads between 15 April and 31 October. Unfortunately, we cannot offer an exhaust system that reduces the stationary noise level to below 95 dB(A).
